FAQ

Common
questions

Everything you need to know about AdmitGH and the Ghanaian university admissions process.

Your aggregate is the sum of your best 3 core subject grades plus your best 3 elective grades — 6 subjects total. Grade A1 = 1 point, B2 = 2, B3 = 3, down to F9 = 9. A lower aggregate is better. For example, if your best 6 grades are A1, B2, B3, A1, B2, B3 your aggregate is 12.

Most public universities accept aggregates of 24 or lower for competitive programs. Medicine and Law at UG typically require 8–10. Nursing and Engineering require 10–14. Business and Arts programs often accept up to 20–24. The exact cutoff varies each year based on the number of applicants.

Yes. Most Ghanaian public universities run their own independent admissions portals. You can apply to UG, KNUST, UCC, and others simultaneously. There is no central UCAS-style system, so you submit separate applications and pay separate fees to each institution.

You can still use AdmitGH to plan ahead. Enter projected grades based on your mock results to see which programs and universities you are likely to qualify for. Once your official results are out, update your grades for an accurate match.

Yes — many programs have compulsory elective requirements. For example, Medicine requires Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. BSc Computer Science requires Elective Mathematics. If you do not have the required electives, you will not meet the minimum entry requirement regardless of your aggregate.

We list scholarships that are regularly offered by government bodies, foundations, and corporations in Ghana. Application windows and availability change yearly. Always visit the official scholarship provider website to confirm current deadlines and eligibility criteria before applying.
